Network & Security Consultant Port of Antwerp (senior)

For a client in the port of Antwerp, we are looking for a dynamic and motivated colleague to lead existing and new projects. As a Network & Security Consultant, you take on a leading role in defining, designing, and implementing complex network projects, being responsible for managing end-to-end solutions.

As a Network & Security Consultant, you are responsible for designing and implementing network projects, including: 

  • Network Design and Implementation: Defining and implementing advanced network architectures, including Cisco Routers and Switches, Next-Gen Firewalls, Wireless devices, A10 Loadbalancer, and other technologies.
  • Project Management: Coordinating and leading network projects, closely collaborating with internal teams, external vendors, and other stakeholders to achieve project objectives.
  • Technical Consultation: Acting as a technical advisor to the client, providing insights into best practices and strategies for network optimization.
  • Security Solutions: Designing and implementing advanced security measures, such as Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS), Network Access Control (NAC), and other advanced security applications.
  • Collaboration with Other Departments: Working closely with other departments within the company, such as system administrators, Technical support, third parties, to ensure an integrated IT infrastructure.
  • Knowledge Transfer: Sharing expertise and providing technical transfer to junior team members.

  • Extensive knowledge and experience in network design, implementation, and optimization.
  • In-depth knowledge of the mentioned technologies.
  • Experience in project management and leadership in complex network projects.
  • Strong security-related skills, including IPS, NAC, and security protocols.
  • Demonstrable experience in coordinating and leading technical teams.
  • No fear of heights: The role may require working at heights during the implementation of network equipment.
  • Driver’s license B: Possession of a driver’s license is necessary for travels to this client.
  • Ability to work in a team and good communication skills.
  • Completed education with a focus on networking, such as a degree in Computer Science, IT, Network Administration, or a related field.
  • Certifications such as Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or equivalent are required.
